Irene Ruth Larson, Rolland, nee Petersen, age 93, of Milroy, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Harbor Chase Care Facility in Naples, Florida. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 3, 2011 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Milroy. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Irene was born February 16, 1917, in Tracy, Minnesota. She graduated from Milroy High School in 1936. In 1940 she married Elmer Rolland and they farmed just south of Milroy for many years. She was a life-time member of the American Legion Auxillary and a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. She worked in Marshall at Kelco, the Spur Drive, and the Marshall Country Club.

Her retirement years were spent on East Lost Lake near Battle Lake, Minnesota. Elmer died in 1986. In 1994 Irene married Raymond Larson. They spent summers at East Lost Lake, wintering in Arizona. Ray died in 1999.

Irene loved to travel, quilt, garden, dance, and was known for her hospitality and good cooking. Bird watching and fishing were favorite activities. She was lucky at cards and enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino.

She is survived by two daughters, Shelley Bott, (David) Mesa AZ and Pamela DeBaere, (Richard) Fort Collins, CO; five grandchildren, Michael Bott, Juneau AK, Paula Bott, Puyallup, WA, Carrie Ragle, Mesa, AZ, Jay DeBaere, Ft. Collins, CO, Kimberly Ann DeBaere, Ramsey, MN, three great grandchildren, Sierra Bott, Puyallup, WA, Carson Liburd, Puyallup, WA and Caylee Ragle, Mesa, AZ,

She is also survived by two sisters, Florence Radtke, Marshall, MN and Ethel Brunsell, Naples, FL, one stepdaughter, Jane Thomas, Redding, CA, two stepsons, Keith Larson, Denver, CO, and David Larson, Valley City, ND, stepgrandchildren Chad, Aaron, Hillary, Hailey, and Josh. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Irene was preceded in death by brothers Lloyd, Fred, Warren, Richard, Oliver, and Woodrow Petersen, sisters Violet Lovald, Harriet Fitzgerald, Lorraine Beebout, and Virginia Sharbach and her stepdaughter, Linda Wolski Bless Be The Memory Of Irene Larson
