Country info:  Known from southern Borneo (Ref. 7050). Records from Biliton, Sumatra resemble Sphaerichthys selatanensisin possessing 4-5 cream or gold bars on body, but these differ in having a different body color (reddish vs. brown). These represent the first records of non-Sphaerichthys. osphromenoides species outside Borneo. More materials are needed to verify their identity (Ref. 56386).
