Echinodorus 'Apart'

Echinodorus 'Apart' is a pretty sword with ovate to lanceolate leaves.  The leaves are a dark green with distinct, light colored veins.  This cultivar was developed by Hans Barth of Dessau, Germany, in 1994. Echinodorus ‘Apart’ is a hybrid of E. uruguayensis "horemanii red" and E. portoalegrensis. It is reminiscent of E. opacus and E. portoalegrensis in form, but is a much less demanding plant than the wild species for those looking for a low-growing sword.
