Ranunculus papulentus - NatureHolic InVitro
The river buttercup Ranunculus papulentus from Australia is closely related to the buttercup we know and love as buttercup in our meadows - but it grows underwater! Its striking and beautiful pinnate green leaves are a great contrast in the middle ground to grassy plants or plants with broad leaves. - Garnelio

Description

The river buttercup Ranunculus papulentus comes from Australia. The pinnate medium green leaves are quite striking and make a great contrast to other leaf shapes in the aquarium. Since Ranunculus inundatus doesn't grow quite as tall with leaf stalks 4-20 cm long, it fits perfectly in the foreground to middle ground of medium to large aquariums or in the middle ground to background of nano tanks.

The river buttercup can be grown as a marsh plant both underwater in an aquarium and above water in a paludarium or aquaterrarium, and also in wet terr ariums. Culture is relatively easy both above and below water - provided there is sufficient light.

As a high light plant, the river buttercup also needs quite a bit of CO2, so additional CO2 fertilization in the aquarium is necessary. In low light, the plants become stunted, the leaf stalks become long and weak, the leaf color is less intense.

River buttercup reproduces by shoots that grow just above the substrate or even in the substrate. At the nodes of these shoots, the leaves grow upward and the roots grow downward. Once Ranunculus papulentus has settled in, it quickly sprouts many low remaining side shoots, and you get a nice group of this great aquarium plant after only a short time.

Propagation of the river buttercup is very easy by cutting off a shoot with about 2-3 nodes and planting it separately.

Here you get an InVitro plant, which already purely due to the cultivation does not bring any pollutants and also contains no snails, worms or other co-inhabitants. Simply rinse the culture medium from the roots and you're done. After that, the ranunculus can be placed in the aquarium immediately.

Leaves that grow too long or old ones that no longer look nice are simply cut off just above the bottom.

Our recommendation: For a splendid plant growth we recommend the Premium Nutrient Substrate for the new setup NatureHolic GroundBooster
