Penélope Cruz looks ethereal in a regal gown at the Met Gala 2023

Penélope Cruz was the very picture of elegance as she attended the Met Gala on Monday, 1 May.

Stepping out at the iconic event, which takes place at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, Penélope opted for a look that combines bridal glamour with a princess-style ensemble. Wearing an archival piece from Chanel Couture's spring/summer 1988 collection, the star opted for a gown in a pale mint green shade. Her chosen look featured a whole range of incredible details including stunning silver embellishment, an elegant off-shoulder neckline and a voluminous, layered skirt that looks as if it was designed for a princess. What's more, the look was finished with statement silver jewellery and a beautiful hood that was reminiscent of a bridal veil.

Of course, the 49-year-old actress chose a beauty look that was as elegant as her outfit. Opting for a chic updo, Penélope looked like royalty. For her makeup, she sported a slightly smokey eye and a nude lip.

In addition to walking the red carpet, Penélope was photographed with several other celebrities at the Met Gala. In one photo, she can be seen posing with singer Dua Lipa and actresses Marion Cotillard and Margot Robbie — and the entire group look absolutely stunning in their chosen looks.

The theme for the Met Gala 2023 was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. Taking place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the gala aimed to honour Lagerfeld, who died in 2019 and was Chanel's long-time creative director.
