When you get to a certain age there's a tendency to let things slide. Your hair can get wiry. Your skincare drops. Crow's feet come out to play. Like, really play. The Triangle of Sadness caves in. A lot of guys can, sometimes, give up on what they look like and their clothing choices, too, really take the brunt. Unless you're Pierce Brosnan. At 69-years-old is defying expectations and is arguably looking better than ever. Because for this former Bond guy, life is too short to let things slip.
And if you weren't sure that Brosnan is that guy, this week, the Black Adam actor was photographed prior to a stint on Jimmy Kimmel's worn-in sofa in New York City. And he looked great. His silver hair was perfectly slicked back. He wore a pair of smart, amber-lensed sunglasses. His fit, which was largely a monotone black was impeccably simple, and consisted of a suede Western jacket, tee and a pair of slim-fit slacks. His shoes too were black and buffed. It was effortless but did a lot. It banged!
There's nothing challenging about it. It wasn't trend-led, and he didn't have to look to his younger contemporaries to get his fit off. Just really nice menswear that, almost, tapped into the big old Quiet Luxury trend sweeping across menswear. You know, dressing like you don't give a shit but still turning out an excellent fit thanks to sheer quality of the stuff on your back.
Sure getting old ain't fun, and sure, we might not age like Pierce Brosnan. But looking as good as him as you get older isn't difficult. He sits up there with a roster of guys who are looking really, really good in their older years. 61-year-old George Clooney has barely aged. Samuel L Jackson has still got it. And we're among the guys who still want to look good as them when we get to their age.
