The name's Brosnan…Pierce Brosnan. While he hasn't been a member of Her Majesty's Secret Service for two decades now, the Irish actor remains one of the coolest human beings on the planet. Case in point: Later this year, he's set to make his DC Extended Universe debut alongside The Rock in Black Adam, in which Brosnan plays a flying sorcerer-slash-superhero named Doctor Fate. Ahead of his rounds on the press junket, we caught up with the suavest Bond (fight us) for the latest episode of GQ's 10 Essentials.

Aside from a couple of big-ticket items—like a Girard-Perregaux watch and some Bottega Veneta slippers—a lot of Brosnan's essentials are things you can definitely get behind…and probably afford. Things like Bose’s GQ-favorite noise-cancelling headphones and a trusty pair of Birkenstock Arizonas, a shoe the actor’s been wearing for years. Brosnan’s obsession with the German footwear brand is a little surprising, he’ll be the first to admit, but given that he splits his time between the sun-kissed beaches of Kauai and Malibu, it’s hardly difficult to understand the appeal. The Arizonas are comfortable, easy to throw on, and might look even better with a pair of socks. (And yes, they’re just as essential in the fall.)

When Brosnan isn't chilling seaside in his Birks, though, he keeps a couple of other go-tos in his regular rotation. First are On’s suddenly ubiquitous running shoes (the waterproof version, thank you very much), a tricked-out, all-purpose sneaker his wife Keely Shaye Smith put him onto. Brosnan prizes their comfort and breathability—so much so, in fact, that they've made cameos in his last two movies.

Pierce Brosnan, affordable footwear king? Well, not quite. Because the third shoes the actor shouts out are Bottega Veneta’s woven leather slippers—asking price: a cool $1,650. And the flexing doesn’t stop there; Bottega makes these particular joints in custom colors and materials exclusively for Brosnan, who touts their cushiness and durability.

Turns out, Pierce Brosnan is a high-low kind of guy. Who woulda thunk it? The world might not have been enough (sorry), but three shoes is plenty.
