Indian food is relished by a lot of celebrities and that includes American stars. For instance, Julia Roberts loves chapattis, aloo gobi and kadhai paneer (cottage cheese and bell peppers cooked in a spicy masala in a wok). Singer Madonna loves South Indian food. Matt Damon enjoys chicken tikka and naan.

Another popular star who is very fond of Indian dishes is Hollywood hottie Tom Cruise, who simply loves the chicken tikka masala.

Cruise, who is busy with the filming of Mission Impossible: 7 in London, visited singer Asha Bhosle’s restaurant Asha’s in Birmingham.

For the restaurant, it was a fantastic surprise to welcome Tom Cruise at Asha’s Birmingham yesterday evening.

Asha’s was born at Wafi, UAE in 2012 and now has 15 restaurants over Middle East & UK.

The 59-year-old Hollywood actor is in the Midlands filming the seventh installment of the Mission Impossible and was spotted out at Asha's at Newhall Street in Birmingham on Saturday night as he enjoyed a chicken tikka masala with his friends.

Tom was thought to have dined with film director Christopher McQuarrie at the Birmingham eatery and he loved the curry so much that he ordered a second one, which he shared with his friends.

 “I was very happy to hear that Mr. Tom Cruise enjoyed his fine dining experience at Asha’s (Birmingham) and I look forward to him visiting us again soon,” Asha Bhosle wrote on Twitter, according to a report in a section of the Indian media.

In a related development, a helicopter carrying Tom Cruise landed in a family’s garden in Warwickshire because the local airport in Coventry was closed.

Cruise, who is currently in the country filming the latest Mission: Impossible film, landed on Alison Webb’s land.

According to the BBC, the family – who live in Baginton, Warwick – did not know Cruise was on the helicopter beforehand, and had only been told that there was an unnamed “VIP who was running late”.

The Hollywood star was not in too much of a rush, however, as he posed for pictures and gave a free helicopter ride to the children of Webb and her partner.

She told the BBC: “I thought it would be kind of cool for the kids to see the helicopter land in the garden. He [Tom Cruise] basically arrived and got out and it was like, ‘Wow.’ He went straight over to the children for a chat, then came over and elbow bumped us and said thank you very much. Then he said if the kids would like they could go up in the helicopter.”

Webb said the children were taken on a ride by the pilot while Cruise attended a meeting. “It turned out to be an incredible day,” she said. “It was surreal, I still now can’t believe it happened.”

The seventh instalment of the Mission: Impossible franchise, directed by Christopher McQuarrie, is set for release in May 2022 after numerous delays. It also stars Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, Rebecca Ferguson and Henry Czerny.
