Kes (1969)

Kes is a classic movie, although I found it boring and predictable. It wasn’t all bad though because I thought the mixture of emotions was interesting and shows how lucky we are to live in this day and age…

Kes is about a young boy who dreams of a career in falconry and has always been in awe of birds of prey. He begins to read a book,(which he stole from a local book shop) about falconry before actually capturing a kestrel chick from a nearby park. He achieves his dream of raising a kestrel and training it but his hard work soon goes down the drain.

I have to admit the ending was a bit disappointing and it seemed as though something else was going to happen. I guess it was interesting to see what childhood was like for my mother but still I’m only giving Kes two stars.
