Gregory-Portland Intermediate School Principal Letty Villa retired after a 40-year career serving the GPISD.
Villa started as an English teacher and has since filled the roles of counselor, special education teacher, and even assistant principal.
Back in college, Villa wanted to work for the GPISD and recalled being hired on the spot, which was the beginning of what she calls a lifetime of joy serving students.
By working in a school, Villa said you get to be a part of everyone's life.
