Woman airlifted after car fire in Capitola
Capitola Police say they responded to a car fire on Tuesday at around 5:08 p.m. that injured a woman in her late 60s. Police said the initial call was for a car fire with an explosion heard.A viewer sent in a video to KSBW 8 and said the fire was located at the Nob Hill parking lot. Capitola Police said that the woman was inside the car when the fire began, but she was rescued. She was airlifted to a local trauma center in stable condition. Police added that her car was fully engulfed in flames, and the car next to hers was also totaled by the fire. There was a pet in the other vehicle, but first responders were able to rescue it. No other injuries were reported. At this time police do not believe the fire is suspicious.
