Julia Vuori is a Helsinki-based illustrator and comic book artist. She studied graphic design and photography in the second half of the 1980's, and started her career illustrating children's books.
She is best-known for her pig character 'Sika', who has appeared in comics and illustrated books, several of which have been translated into Japanese. The character is somewhat the artist's alter ego, and encounters everyday problems as melancholy, bad luck, difficulties in friendships, earache and broken dishes.
