Jukka Mikkonen, who works as an industrial designer at Elomatic, and Pekka Koivukunnas (now retired) have been the brainstormers and responsible designers of artificial nests for the Saimaa ringed seal since 2016. In addition, their tasks have included preparing hives, installing nests and other field work, as well as expert assistance as part of the working group. The most important responsible actors in artificial nesting work are Metsähallitus Nature Services and the University of Eastern Finland. On Saturday 16.12. at 18:40, Finnish Yle TV1 will present a documentary film about the Saimaa ringed seal, its unique habitat in Saimaa, as well as dedicated researchers, authorities and other seal conservationists, including Jukka and Pekka. The document is also viewable on internet (Finnish subtitles - but you can turn on automatic translation!)

https://lnkd.in/g5NNCEnM THE ROLE OF FINGERING IN CREATING MUSIC ON THE PIANO Marija Dinov DOI Number https://lnkd.in/ggZStWbf First page 041 Last page 050 Abstract The focus of this article is the role of fingering in performing art of pianists. Fingering is a thoughtful determination of the exact order in which fingers are used in a given musical phrase. The main purpose of this paper is to explain how fingering, as an element of the composition created by the performer, affects the expressiveness of the performed musical phrase. The central analysis is aimed at illustrating how various expressive effects can be achieved by using different fingerings to perform the same written musical phrase. As a specific example we showed that the use of different fingers in a certain musical context can produce different cognitive and emotional responses in the mind of the performer, and thus affects the understanding of the music being performed. Keywords fingering, movement, musical phrase, gesture

This was the first part of the performance series Re-enchantment: Porphyra by Magdalena Forster and Milena Georgieva The performance series ‘Re-enchantment’ signifies a re-enchantment of the world, a search for the forces within the body, for synergies between forms of life, for trance and intoxication as an alternative to the materialistic and algorithmically influenced present. Following Silvia Federici Re-enchantment represents also a search for communal forms of property and social forms of organization that emancipate themselves from exploitative ideologies and technologies. Conversely, Max Weber used the term ‘disenchantment’ to describe a state of historical loss stemming from reductive and exploitative ideologies and technologies, and collapsing into a peculiarly modern form of intellectualized despair. https://lnkd.in/dHPSJPSk
