Kubernetes is a powerful tool, but it needs a Linux feature that acts as the resource manager. The resource requests and limits you set in your pod specs aren't directly managed by Kubernetes. Linux cgroups are the ones that support Kubernetes, making sure every Pod takes fair share. If some pods aren't behaving well, the cgroup will kick them out of the party 😂 Hope it's useful. If you want your system to be stable for a long time, pin the versions of your dependencies. From linux/ubuntu versions to OS packages, to docker image versions, to terraform versions to k8s versions to library/sdk versions to external api versions and more and more.
