Former Emmerdale star Charley Webb has stunned her celebrity pals and fans as she gave a glimpse at how she celebrated her birthday. The actress, from Bury, headed to London to mark the occasion with the help of friend and West End star Sheridan Smith.

Taking to Instagram, Charley, who is famed for having played Debbie Dingle in the ITV soap, shares a string of snaps showing how she spent turning 36, starting with a selfie of her and her sons - Buster, Ace, and Bowie - who she shares with ex-husband Matthew Wolfenden.

The mother and sons smiled for the camera in the car before Charley was seen being sung 'Happy Birthday' to and presented with a cake by Sheridan and her son, Billy, who were clearly in the party mood with party hats atop of their heads.

The other images included a closer look at her celebrations over dinner and drinks while also being joined by fellow former Emmerdale star and friend Sheree Murphy. "36. Birthday week with some of my favourite people," Charley then captioned the post.

Hollyoaks actress Glynis Barber, who is currently working with Charley's brother Jamie Lomas on the Channel 4 soap, was among the first to respond and wrote in the comments: "Happy birthday gorgeous! My god how can you be 36?? I’ve known you since you were 18!"

And the birthday wishes continued to come flooding in. Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley said: "Happy Birthday beautiful girl love you." Former Emmerdale co-star Anthony Quinlan replied: "Happy Birthday! Hope you have a good one." Actress Gaynor Faye posted: "Happy birthday beautiful."

Meanwhile, others were distracted by her snap with her sons as they couldn't help but recognise eldest Buster's likeness to his mum. @cutjoanna said: "Buster’s a mini you. Happy Birthday." @leanne_fearn87 commented: "How much does your eldest look like you!! Happy birthday." @allyson.boyle added: "Your son beside you is your twin."

It comes after Charley appeared taken aback by how grown-up her son appeared after undergoing a big change. The former soap star has previously defended her son's appearance after comments about their long hair.

Last summer, the soap star took part in a Q&A on social media with questions about Emmerdale frequently popping up. However, some of the questions weren't about work and one follower asked Charley about her children's long locks. "Will you ever get the boys' hair cut or do they like it long?" the question read as the 35-year-old responded: "I love boys with long hair personally."

Continuing to speak about her experience with her kids, Buster, Bowie and Ace who she shares with fellow Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden, Charley said: "I think it depends on personality but mine all really suit it long. Buster and Bowie have both had it short and didn't like it...

"Ace will decide when he wants to cut it I'm sure." She then added: "I'm not precious about it." But it appears Buster had a change of heart. In Charley's latest post, the pair could be seen posing for a selfie in the car.

"Lads," the mum-of-three simply captioned the post before she then followed it up with another picture but this time just of her teen son. Buster had undergone a chop to his locks and the results seemed to take her by surprise. "Hairs gone," Charley typed to her fans and followers before adding: "I basically have a 19 year old."
