LANSING, MI -- Two big lottery wins have been announced by the Michigan State Lottery today as the string of good luck for players continues. First, a winning Lotto 47 ticket worth $1.2 million was sold for the drawing Saturday night. The ticket was sold at the Wayne Med Mart, located at 417 South Wayne Road in Westland.

The lucky player matched all six numbers drawn -- 02-04-08-09-17-28 -- to win the prize. The winner now has one year from the drawing date to collect their prize. The winner should contact the Michigan Lottery’s Public Relations Division at (517) 373-1237 to make an appointment to claim the prize.

Meanwhile, a 23-year-old man from the Upper Peninsula won $500,000 playing the lottery’s Wild Time instant game. He bought his winning ticket at Wazz’s Party Plus, located at 29582 East Channel Road on Drummond Island and visited lottery headquarters in Lansing recently to claim his prize.

“I have had three dreams where I’ve won $500,000 playing this game,” said Jesse Fravala,. “Ever since the first dream, I have been playing this game hoping the dream would come true and here I am.”

With his winnings, the Drummond Island resident plans on buying a new vehicle and investing the remainder.

“I bought five tickets and didn’t win anything on the first four,” Fravala said. “I wasn’t expecting to win anything on the last one either, so when I scratched off a $500,000 I didn’t believe it was real. I had tears in my eyes.”

The two wins continue what has been an incredible run of good luck for players in Michigan lately. Last week, a Grand Rapids woman claimed a $5 million prize that she only realized she’d won by scrolling through Facebook.

The week prior to that, a Washtenaw County man expected to only win $20 playing an instant game, but was shocked to learn he won $1 million. That win came around the same time a Wayne County man won $2 million playing an instant ticket on Thanksgiving. The man says he has plenty to be thankful for now and will use the money to help family and charity.

In October, a couple from Suttons Bay who came forward to claim an $80 million Powerball win. That couple plans on using the money to support their family of seven kids and 21 grandkids. Don’t forget the Mega Millions jackpot is currently at $314 million with another drawing schedule for tomorrow night.
