I know he doesn't look like he misses many meals,and I can attest that he takes matters himself to make sure.My 6 year old Barred Citrinellus that I named 'The Rock' is healing from a self infected wound he received from trying to knock open the glass top of his tank ( he used to do it frequently in his former tank with a plastic hood) ,anyway he got the wound when after I had been out of town for several days I returned. did not feed him and basically ignored him ,which his reaction was to literally try to open his tanks lid to get my attention to feed him . Going forward i can say that this fish has now trained me to feed him first thing whenever I come from out of town
