The announcement came yesterday from Leslie E.

Jett who was elected Saturday the youngest commander the post has ever had. Jett said accomplishment of the band program- which includes new uniforms and instruments--and other plans for the coming conventions are first items to be considered on assuming the post. Got Big Majority The 28-year-old lieutenant in the state safety education division netted 894 votes. The opposing candidate, Jacobs H. Doyle, received 347 votes.

The American Legion luncheon club will the newly elected officers executive committeehonor, men of the post at its weekly meeting at noon today. The meeting will be held at cafeteria. Marvin G. Hall who was elected president of the luncheon club, will be installed and will preside at the meeting. Arthur Crownover Jr.

will be installed as vice president and program chairman of the club. Donoho Vice Commander Other post 5 officers elected were William J. to Mary Tied Memphian Found Dead in Hotel Room MEMPHIS (7P) A 38-year-old. man -his feet bound to the bedposts and hands tied behind his back- was found dead in a hotell room here early yesterday, Homicide Inspector Pete Weibenga identified him A9 William A. Lakev, a Memphis plumber. He said Lakey had been dead 10 12 hours. Strips of the bed sheet and bed spread were wound tightly around Lakey's nose, throat and mouth.

Wiebenga said he ordered a search for a couple registered at the hotel. The body was found in the room registered in their name. Motive for the slaying apparently was robbery, Wiebenga said. There was no sign of a struggle in the room. The body, stretched on the bed, was fully clothed.

2 Injured in Traffic Two persons were injured, neither seriously, in accidents within the city yesterday, Alvin Cathey. 16, of 607 Reis ave. received minor injuries when the motorbike on which he was riding hit a car driven by Edward W. Keith Jr. of Hampshire, at POT William E.

W. H. Fisher's Sister Dies in Florida Home Mrs. Anna Fisher Henry, 74, sister of William H. Fisher, Cedar lane, Nashville, died yesterday morning at her home in Jacksonville, following a long period of ill health.

Funeral services will be held there tomorrow. Mrs. Henry, native of Dalton, Ga. moved to Nashville when a young girl, but left here 50 years ago to live in Jacksonville. She was the wife of Edward F.

Henry, Besides her husband and brother, she is survived by two sons, Edward F. Henry Jr. and Robert Henry: two other brothers, ert T. Fisher and Walter B. Fisher; and two sisters, Mrs.

Lois Napier Mrs. Lois Napier, 35, died yesterday at her home, Croley drive, after a lingering illness. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 10 a.m. at West Nashville Heights Church of Christ. Joe Jones will officiate.

Burial will be in Scott cemetery near Kingston Springs, Tenn. Mrs. Napier was 21 native of Nashville. She had lived here all her life. She was a member of the West Nashville Heights Church of Christ.

A former resident of Nashville, she was the daughter of William Lytle Nichol and Charlotte. Shoup Nichol, and was Nashvilla and New York. Mrs. Cleaves was the great granddaughter of Stephen Elliott, one of the founders of the University of the South at Sewanee, and she was a granddaughter of Francis A. Shoup, confederate general.
