Toni Collette and her spouse of almost two decades are divorcing, the Oscar-nominated Australian actress announced a day after partner David Galafassi was photographed kissing another woman on a Sydney beach.

“After a substantial period of separation, it is with grace and gratitude that we announce we are divorcing,” the exes said in a joint statement that Collette posted to Instagram on Wednesday. “We’re united in our decision and part with continuing respect and care for each other.”

Married since 2003, they have two children, 14-year-old daughter Sage Florence and 11-year-old son Arlo Robert, according to People.

“Our kids are of paramount importance to us and we will continue to thrive as a family, albeit [in] a different shape,” Collette wrote. “We’re thankful for the space and love you grant us as we evolve and move through this transition peacefully.”

Collette posted the news the day after photos surfaced of Galafassi, a 44-year-old drummer, kissing and canoodling with another woman on a Sydney beach.

Collette, 50, is known for her work in “The Sixth Sense,” which got her nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar; “Little Miss Sunshine,” which netted her and the cast an Academy Award for best acting ensemble; and “Muriel’s Wedding.” Her most recent work is last year’s “Dream Horse.” Collette’s many other credits include “Knives Out” and “Hereditary,” a horror tale.

On television, she starred in Showtime’s “United States of Tara,” winning an Emmy in 2009 for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series for her portrayal of a mother with multiple personalities.
