No reason you can’t if you take care of your body. Also helps that he’s always had a lean body. Of coarse having a personal trainer and lots of time to spend at the gym doesn’t hurt.

Don’t forget a lot of people out there are at the genes they inherited from their parents. It simply isn’t in the cards for all of us to look like action figures due to that reason not matter how many hours they put into the gym.

@ejkranz, if that’s really you at 43, I agree you’re hot! 🙂 There is no reason you both can’t be hot, hot is not a competition, we can all be hot if we want to be. My brother and I committed to working out everyday for a year, I lifted weights and walked, he biked and swam with a little bit of weights here and there, we are both in our 50’s and we both looked and felt great. We had both been active and had never really given up on fitness so it wasn’t completely foreign to us, and although life eventually got in the way of the “Everyday” part we still both hit the gym 4 to 6 times a week.
It’s true actor’s get paid to go to the gym, but most people’s bodies will respond fairly well to a regular exercise routine. Gym heads make it seem complicated and difficult but the truth is simple, find an activity you enjoy and make time to do it every day, even if you don’t change anything else you’ll be much more fit, you’ll look better and you’ll be healthier. One other tip that really helped me was cooking at home more, again, it’s not hard, it keeps you out of the restaurants and you have more control over what you put in your body.

I’ve had the hots for Ryan Phillippe since he was on One Life to Live in the 90s as a gay teenager. He was very cute and wholesome then. Unfortunately it’s my understanding that the sponsors forced the network to kill his character off due to their obvious homophobia. Ryan has certainly matured into quite the man! The other gay character on One Life to Live, Kish (aka Scott Evans) was quite the stud on the show. In 2009 the sponsors didn’t object at first if Ryan and his boyfriend had all out hot sex.

He is in amazingly great shape. I don’t care if he has a lot of time and a trainer. I have time too but use it to eat and watch TV. He has to be very careful of his diet. Starches and Sweets are just about out to keep lean and mean. He was almost too handsome as a young actor. Other actors his age have lost their hair and have a pot belly!

The excuses here, for not looking great at any age, surprise me, from gay guys….. If you eat organic, nutritious foods, stay away from all the processed crap, balance your fats/proteins/carbohydrates, drink plenty of clean water, exercise vigorously every day, and make some time to meditate, anyone and everyone can look their best until they croak. The fact that our water, our air and our foods are poisoned by Big-Pharma, Big-Agra and Big-biochemical corporations, doesn’t make it easy, but it’s also not impossible.

organic foods…no processed foods…balanced diet…exercising daily…a recipe for a boring life. If you have an active job and are moderate in food/booze intake, there is no reason to be that extreme.
My Dad was a journeyman plumber and he ate a fair amount and had a few beers each week and was in much better shape than any high paid trainer-influenced, artificial body like Phillippe’s. I think a natural, more organic-influenced body (like one of a construction worker) looks a lot better.

If you’re born with short legs, wide hips and narrow shoulders, you’re not going to be a hottie no matter what you do, though you can definitely look “your” best. I like that Ryan’s muscles (especially his pecs and abs) don’t look like they’ve been blow up with bicycle pump. And he has enough fat on him that his stomach will feel like human flesh and not paper-thin skin stretched over raw muscle.
