If Kraft Singles have been part of your lunch-packing routine this year, pay attention: Kraft is recalling some of its American cheese products due to faulty packaging. (So watch out when you make your next grilled cheese!)

The recall affects 83,800 cases of their Kraft Singles, where a wrapping machine issue could lead to a thin layer of the film staying on the slice after it's peeled, which can be a choking hazard. Six people have already complained about gagging on the leftover strip of plastic, but no one has been injured.

The packaging equipment that caused the packaging issue has been repaired, and products processed after the recalled Kraft Slices are fine.

The products affected include the 16-ounce Kraft Singles American Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product that has a S and a 72 in the manufacturing code, a UPC code of 0 2100061526 1, and a Best When Used By date between January 10, 2024 and January 27, 2024; and the three-pound multipacks of Kraft Singles American Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product, with a UPC code of 0-2100060491-3 and a Best When Used By date between January 9, 2024 and January 16, 2024.

If you have an affected Kraft Singles product, you can return it to the store for a refund or exchange, or you can call Kraft Heinz at 1-800-8252 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time for a refund.

This is a voluntary recall, according to the statement Kraft Heinz issued Tuesday,
