Mike P Trashy potboiler has it's fun moments...I mean, this is a slutty and shallow show; but then again Aaron Spelling really knows how to work shock value and spectacle effectively...And as dumb and gross as this show gets; much of the time you still can't take your eyes off it; even if it's for the wrong reasons... Kate Jackson and David Boyle were definitely the anchors of the show...They kept you involved, and kept you caring; and the show wasn't without it's entertainment value... Very moderate recommendation for camp enthusiasts... And for fans of 70s nostalgia; which this is definitely a prime example of... Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/19/24 Full Review Chris M It's a classic show for a reason. Sadly I couldn't watch when I was little because it was on past my bedtime. But seeing it now I can see why it was popular. Women power in a time when the only women that didn't have super powers were just sex symbols or damsels in distress. There are some slower episodes but overall, a near perfect series. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/10/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the greatest TV shows of all time. Emily Nussbaum New York Times Despite the show's ogle factor, it was also catnip for little girls. Stylish hotties who saved the day, the Angels got to strike poses and karate chop bad guys, alternately battling ''male chauvinists'' and jealous, bespectacled proto-feminists. Nov 29, 2018 Full Review Kate Muir Chicago Tribune The guns 'n' hairspray series apparently created a fine model of womanhood for girls growing up at the time. Although still nominally owned by a man called Charlie, the Angels were women to be reckoned with. Nov 29, 2018 Full Review Ron Alridge Charlotte Observer Their acting ability can be summed up in a word: zero. Jul 14, 2021 Full Review W. Scott Poole PopMatters This is bad TV, even if it's a good primary source for a recent, but somewhat distant feeling, historical moment. Rated: 1/10 Jan 11, 2019 Full Review S. Jhoanna Robledo Common Sense Media Feminists may wince at the thought that the Angels are providing eye candy, but they are, though it's all done in the spirit of sunshiny -- this is L.A., after all -- adventure. On the plus side, they're also providing examples of strong, capable women. Nov 29, 2018 Full Review Lois Armstrong People Magazine The lighter-than-air bubble of ABC's Charlie's Angels, already canonized by Nielsen as the only new hit of a leaden TV season, can last only as long as the edgy harmony among its three achingly beautiful stars.
