Avatar: The Last Airbender has always been known for its incredible storylines, battle scenes, and characters. Even years after the show first premiered, fans new and old can't get enough of seeing Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, and the rest of the gang as they try to save the world in the middle of the big war against the Fire Nation. Even though these kids basically have the fate of the whole world on their shoulders, you might be surprised to know just how young they actually are.
Here's everything you need to know about the ages of the characters of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Aang
Age: 12/112
Ages can get a little tricky when you accidentally get frozen in an iceberg for over 100 years. Aang was only 12 when they disappeared and he wasn't set free until 100 years later, technically making him 112 at the start of the series.
Katara
Age: 14
The young waterbender is only 14-years-old throughout the entire series, which makes her bending skills especially impressive for someone so young.
Sokka
Age: 15
Since he was left behind when the other men of the Southern Water Tribe left to go fight in the war, he has become a natural leader in Team Avatar.
Toph
Age: 12
The young earthbender is only 12 and she's easily able to take down people four times her size.
Zuko
Age: 16
The exiled prince of the Fire Nation is 16-years-old throughout the entire series. He was 13-years-old when he was banished from his home and sent off to search for the missing Avatar.
Suki
Age: 15
Suki has been training to be a Kyoshi warrior since she was eight and she's also the oldest out of the troupe.
Azula
Age: 14
That's right, Azula is only 14 throughout the entire series, which might be surprising to some. This also means there's a two year age difference between her and older brother Zuko.
Mai
Age: 15
The knife-throwing master is right between Zuko and Azula's ages, so it makes sense that she's close to both.
Ty Lee
Age: 14
The actrobatic fighter is the same age as Azula and they even went to the same school together.
