The BMW Group has shown its most recent design concept, the BMW Vision Neue Klasse, which previews the appearance of the upcoming BMW brand's automobiles. "Our ability to innovate in the core areas of electrification, digitalization, and circularity is combined in the BMW Vision Neue Klasse," says Oliver Zipse, Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW AG. The Neue Klasse is already ushering in a new era for BMW and delivering the mobility of the upcoming decade on the roads in 2025. This allows us to always be two steps ahead of the curve.

With its large surfaces and few, standout lines, the Vision Vehicle embraces a distinct design language that has been reduced to the bare minimum. By emphasizing distinguishing elements like the BMW kidney grille and the Hofmeister kink of the side window graphic, this technique further enhances the BMW vibe of the design. The new version of BMW iDrive promises a distinctive digital user experience inside the vehicle by combining the physical and virtual worlds. Throughout the course of the vehicle's life, the Neue Klasse's carbon footprint is decreased by using more secondary raw materials, producing it with less resources, and using an all-electric drivetrain with sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology.

Inside, the cabin is equipped with features that any contemporary electric vehicle (EV) would anticipate, such as a large center display with few buttons and a panoramic vision display that spans the lower part of the windshield. Apart from the elements that are already there, such the multifunction steering wheel controls and the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, BMW is also introducing something called "Panoramic Vision."

In Neue Klasse, Panoramic Vision makes its premiere as an accent to the conventional head-up display. While the conventional head-up display is still functional and provides basic readouts, graphics will be projected directly into the driver's line of sight and across the entire width of the windshield. Motion controls will be available for both the driver and front passenger to use while interacting with the Panoramic Vision feature.

Large, commanding taillights in the back are accentuated with 3D-printed details to give the appearance of depth. "The Neue Klasse's design is characteristically BMW and so progressive that it looks like we skipped a model generation," said Adrian van Hooydonk, head of BMW Group Design.

Because to the Neue Klasse's size, design, and sixth-generation eDrive technology, BMW claims that it will have a 30% longer range, 30% quicker charging times, and 25% greater efficiency. Furthermore, compared to the prismatic cells found in previous iterations of BMW's electric vehicles, the new round battery cells provide a 20% higher energy density.

But the Neue Klasse is more than just an idea for some vague, undefined future. In contrast, the company intends to release six Neue Klasse-based models in the next two years, including a sedan and a SAV (sports activity vehicle, BMW's term for an SUV). These cars will be available in large quantities and will be based on this concept.
