2. IEEE - Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers is a professional association with
its corporate office in New York City and its operations center in Piscataway, New
Jersey. It was formed in 1963 from the amalgamation of the American Institute of
Electrical Engineers and the Institute of Radio Engineers. Today it is the world's largest
association of technical professionals with more than 400,000 members in chapters
around the world. Its objectives are the educational and technical advancement
of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and
allied disciplines.
IEEE produces over 30% of the world's literature in the electrical and electronics
engineering and computer science fields, publishing well over 100 peer-reviewed
journals.
The published content in these journals as well as the content from several hundred
annual conferences sponsored by the IEEE are available in the IEEE online digital
library, IEEE Xplore, for subscription-based access and individual publication purchases.
In addition to journals and conference proceedings, the IEEE also publishes tutorials
and the standards that are produced by its standardization committees.

IEEEXtreme 24-Hour Programming Competition
IEEEXtreme is a global challenge in which
teams of IEEE Student members—advised and
proctored by an IEEE member, and often
supported by an IEEE Student Branch—
compete in a 24-hour time span against each
other to solve a set of programming problems.
IEEEXtreme 9.0 will be held 24 October 2015
00:00:00 UTC.

IEEEmadC (Mobile Applications Development Contest)
IEEEmadC (Mobile Applications Development Contest) is a new international contest
organized by IEEE for all student members across the globe.
15. IEEE Travel Grants
IEEE Region 8 - VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION FUND
Travel support for participation in conferences that are located in Region 8 and
organised or sponsored by IEEE R8 organisational units.
Region 8 IEEE is quite diverse in nature covering Europe, Africa and the Middle East. It is
the fast growing IEEE Region. The average income in various R8 countries differs
significantly. That is why a IEEE R8 Voluntary Contribution Fund (IEEE R8 VCF) was
created. This fund is fed by voluntary contributions donated by Region 8 members. The
money is then used to support members and especially students and graduate student
members with low income in their professional and technical activities.
Member of IEEE R8 at least in a second year.
Travel to a conference sponsored or co-sponsored by IEEE
Conference within the geographical area of Region 8
The maximum amount provided can not exceed US$1000.
16. IEEE Travel Grants
IEEE Region 8 Student and Young Professional Congress – SYP
Full travel and accommodation
support (from IEEE Region 8 and
IEEE Ukraine Section) for ONE
person from ONE Student Branch or
YP Affinity Group!
17. IEEE Travel Grants
IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Travel Grant Program
IEEE WIE Travel Grant program provides grants for IEEE WIE members to attend and
present at IEEE sponsored conferences or to participate in IEEE WIE sponsored events.
Applicants must have been an IEEE WIE member for at least one year.
IEEE WIE Travel Grant Program provides funds for applicants traveling to attend and
present at an IEEE sponsored conference, or to participate in IEEE WIE sponsored
events.
Travel Grant Limitation up to US$750.
18. IEEE Grants for Projects
IEEE Standards Education Grants
IEEE is offering grants for graduate and upperclassman design project student application
papers. Grants include US$500 for students, with additional honoraria for faculty mentors.
Eligibility:
IEEE is offering grants to both students and faculty mentors to help with graduate and
capstone design projects with an industry standards component.
IEEE will publish the results as a student application paper.
19. IEEE Grants for Projects
Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) in IEEE
EPICS in IEEE awards grants to university student groups to work on socially innovative
projects that may address local community-service needs such as access and abilities,
education and outreach, environment, and human services. Projects must be submitted by
an IEEE member and involve a non-profit organization partner. Collaboration with a local
high school is also encouraged. Typical awards use IEEE funding for project related supplies
(as opposed to personnel costs) with award amounts in the US$5,000 to US$10,000 range.
There is no deadline for applications. Applications are accepted throughout the year on a
rolling basis. Apply today and help impact your community.
20. IEEE Grants for Projects
IEEE Foundation
2015 Theme & Request for Proposals (RFPs)
