Sometimes an actor has embodied a role so perfectly that we can't imagine anyone else in it, like Rose Nylund, Barney Fife, Jack Sparrow and Han Solo. Mr. Spock from the 1960s TV show "Star Trek" is one those roles. Leonard Nimoy became Spock, so much so that many fans were up in arms over the casting of Zachary Quinto in the most recent movie series.

So imagine, if you will, that Spock was portrayed in the original series by George Lindsey, an Alabama native who played "Goober" on "The Andy Griffith Show" and "HeeHaw."
