I had a deeply depressing Zoom conversation recently. It was an interview with Morten Harket, the chisel-cheeked lead singer with Norwegian pop idols A-ha. He was perfectly lovely and the chat was easygoing, albeit with a level of seriousness that you wouldn’t expect from a man famous for leather wristbands, falsetto howls and for being a hand-drawn hunk who magically appeared, soaked with sweat, in the bedroom of a teenage girl at the end of the Take on Me video (probably quite triggering for viewers today). No, the depressing part of the Zoom was that Harket, although a hefty 61 years of age, looked young enough to be my little brother, if not my son. It was his hair, mainly.
