This smallish barb is a great addition to a well planted soft water aquarium. The fish is shy and timid so must be kept in groups and given plenty of darker hiding spots and vegetation. Soft, acidic water and a varied diet will ensure good health and colour. Given good conditions, the fish will become active and lively and their markings will ensure a distinctive place in a peaceful community tank.
