Wanted: kribensis cichlid

Has anyone seen Kribs for sale recently in Gauteng.

I know this is an old post , but does anyone know where i can get a decent size pair of Kribs . and maybe a different type like a Nigerian red or striped krib .......

 

Looks like I need to start breeding these buggers again .

 

Whats the pricing on these fish?

Check Animal Kingdom @ Hillfox - they have some normals. If I remeber correctly they go for R50 each.

 

mmmm, their condition is a little iffy though.

 

Yeah, I would agree with that. They seem to have lost interest in the fish section...

That said, I got mine from them and they have been terrorizing other inhabitants of my 3ft for a month now...

 

Its a pitty you guys are in Gauteng

I breed them and sell @R10 ea
And here in Durban guys still complain about the price

 

Joh, Its a pity im in Gauteng :evil:, our LFS sells them at R40 each and they are quite small.

 

R 40- isn't that bad.
I also have a breeding pair and sold some offspring to a LFS.
Got R10- (I keep them until reasonable size) and LFS sells them for R49- now ....
Maybe I should sell on Gumtree so Joe Public doesn't get ripped off .... -Lol

@scubabravo, I saw the one for R40 at the LFS in Benoni. Unfortunately haven't seen them at Brakpan yet. Can give you the address and Tel if you want it.

I find it interesting they are that expensive, I mean mine bred faster than guppies. I would get a brand new spawn every 10 - 14 days If I removed the spawn from the parents and raised the babies alone.

The female is smaller, and has shorter fins, and a larger/rounded belly and usually display more colour.
In the following pic the female is on the top and male bottom

Female will be more rounded and the belly will have a bright maroon/redish color
the male is more longer n have a long sharp point fin

I found Kribensis , both normal and Albino at Petstop in Pretoria. Nice Condition also.
