The Blood Service names Minna Mäki director of research and product development

Minna Mäki (PhD) has been named director of research, product development and new services at the Blood Service. She takes up her new position on 22 May 2023.

Mäki is a lecturer in molecular microbiology and IT engineer with an extensive background in research and development. She has previously worked at Biohit Oyj, Orion Diagnostica Oy and Mobidiag Oy. She also has extensive experience in microbiology and bioinformatics research.

“I look forward to working on projects aimed at developing the Blood Service’s operations and services. I am excited to join the Blood Service, especially given I will be doing so on the year of its 75th anniversary”, Mäki says.

Mäki will be taking over the post of Kari Aranko, who is retiring after many fruitful years with the organisation. Minna Mäki takes up her new position on 22 May 2023 and will also serve as part of the Blood Service’s Management Group.
