Welcome to Korvatunturi Visitor Centre in Savukoski


Korvatunturi Visitor Centre in Savukoski is located in the home region of Santa Claus. The centre introduces the tranquil and thriving wilderness of Urho Kekkonen National Park, Kemihaara, and surrounding areas. Visitors are informed of the fishing and hiking opportunities in the region: hiking trails, winter hiking, fell huts, and other hiking services.


In the Korvatunturi Visitor Centre there is a permanent exhibition with free entrance. The Wilderness Exhibition introduces the natural world of the Savukoski area including its fauna and flora, including bears and birch polypores. The exhibition also introduces the relationship between the humans and the wilderness – hunting, reindeer husbandry, and nature conservation.

The visitor centre is open at summer and autumn season. Outside the opening hours of visitor centre, there are information boards at the yard of visitor centre, where one can get acquainted with the trails, nature, and hiking safety of Savukoski.
