The actress Jeanne Moreau has passed away

On July 31, 2017, aged 89, the French actress passed away. Today Vogue Paris pays tribute to one of cinema's brightest stars.

Jeanne Moreau died on July 31, 2017 in her Parisian apartment, aged 89 years old. From François Truffaut and Orson Welles to Roger Vadim and Jean-Luc Godard, Jeanne Moreau worked with some of the biggest names in cinema. In both the theatre and on screen, the actress made her mark with her natural and modern style, winning a César in 1992 for her role in The Old Lady Who Walked In The Sea, as well as two honorary César awards in 1995 and 2008. As the singer of Le tourbillon de la vie in the iconic film, Jules et Jim, Jeanne lived her life at one hundred miles per hour, with numerous passionate encounters and lovers. Her passing marks the loss of one of the brightest stars in cinema.
