Heat Transfer Compounds<br />

Application . . .<br />

T-<strong>80</strong> <strong>and</strong> T-<strong>85</strong> are low to medium temperature heat transfer<br />

compounds for use in moist <strong>and</strong> corrosive environments.<br />

<strong>Thermon</strong>’s heat transfer compounds provide an efficient<br />

thermal connection between the tracer <strong>and</strong> the process<br />

equipment. By eliminating the air voids that would ordinarily<br />

exist, heat is directed into the pipe wall primarily through<br />

conduction rather than convection <strong>and</strong> radiation. A single<br />

tracer utilizing <strong>Thermon</strong>’s heat transfer compound has the<br />

equivalent performance of three to five air convection (bare)<br />

tracers.<br />

T-<strong>80</strong> <strong>and</strong> T-<strong>85</strong> are typically utilized around valves <strong>and</strong><br />

equipment where maximum exposure temperatures will not<br />

exceed 325°F (163°C) <strong>and</strong> 375°F (190°C) respectively. To<br />

reduce installation time <strong>and</strong> product waste, these compounds<br />

are available in 1/10-gallon (0.379-liter) cartridges. Description . . .<br />
