Aren't these Zebra Tilapia (Tilapia buttikoferi)?
    • zoogiraffe
Well they could be,but I'm not an expert,so I was only going by the label provided by the place, which given the fact they have gone to the trouble of working out just what type of plec they keep in with some of the Crocs,I was prepared to trust that they were right with this as well!

You would kind of expect Spotted Tilapia to have spots, not stripes, wouldn't you?

Or could they be juvenile spotted tilapia?

'Juveniles with 7-9 large vertical bands'

If I remember they were quite small.

You would but then Zebra Shark have spots and not stripes!

They have been confirmed by Crocodiles of the World as juvenile Tilapia mariae.
