  2. Physical Characteristics:

    • The Piebald Horseface Loach exhibits several distinctive features:
      • Absence of exposed labial barbels: Unlike some other loaches, it lacks visible barbels around its mouth.
      • Distinct black spot on the upper margin of the caudal-fin base: This spot is usually present.
      • Side of the head with 0-1 row of large spots: These spots add to its unique appearance.
      • Dorsal and caudal fins without large black spots: The fins lack prominent dark markings.
      • Dark saddles along the dorsal midline: Typically 10-20 dark saddles are present.
      • Black spots on the side of the body: Usually 9-17 black spots adorn its flanks.
  3. Size and Morphology:  YThe maximum recorded length is for males is 12cm The dorsal fin typically has 9 1/2 branched rays and prectoral fins has 10 rays.
