Fauda star Idan Amedi has reportedly been injured amid the ongoing Israel-Gaza War.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor-singer Idan Amedi who starred as Sagi Tzur, a soldier in the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) in the popular Netflix series titled Fauda was seriously injured and is now recovering.

The 35-year-old actor got wounded while fighting as an Israel Defence Forces reservist in the Gaza Strip against Hamas militants, according to Israeli media reports.

Idan Amedi joined the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) as part of the Combat Engineering Corps after the deadly war broke out on October 7, 2023, when Hamas attacked southern Israel, which reportedly killed more than 1,100 Israelis, most of whom were civilians.

The Times of Israel reported that the Israeli actor was airlifted to a hospital on Monday after getting injured. As per the news outlet, the actor was brought to the Sheba Medical Center where he underwent surgery and received treatments.

Meanwhile, the Israeli singer and actor’s father also reportedly confirmed with the Hebrew-language Walla news that Amedi’s life is not in danger.

As soon as the news spread, fans of the actor prayed for his quick recovery.

On Monday, January 8, 2024, Fauda creators Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff also praised the actor for his courageous act and sacrifice via a post on X, formerly Twitter.

The father of two, Amedi, has already performed his mandatory military service in the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) Combat Engineering Corps, reportedly between the years 2006 and 2009.
