A MiG-31 fighter jet crashed in Russia
A MiG-31 fighter jet has crashed in Russia’s Leningrad region.

According to preliminary information, a technical malfunction could be the cause of the MiG-31 crash.
The Western Military District of the Russian Federation also states that the plane crashed in a deserted place, and there is no destruction on the ground.
MiG-31 is a Soviet and Russian double supersonic high-altitude long-range fighter-interceptor aircraft. It was designed by the Mikoyan Design Bureau as an upgrade to the MiG-25 from the 1970s.
Modernized MiG-31BM aircraft are already coming into service of the Russian Air Forces.
Previously, in January 2022 the MiG-31 fighter jet of Russian Air Forces rolled out of a runway and collapsed in the Novgorod region of the Russian Federation.
