Adam Lambert recently took the plunge and ponied up for an architecturally angular contemporary residence perched just above the Sunset Strip. The American Idol alum, however, is still looking to sell another contemporary home in the same area for $3.995 million. Lambert’s new purchase is a sleek 5,028 square feet and features five bedrooms and six bathrooms; he snapped it up for $6.5 million, substantially less than the original asking price of $7.888 million. (Fun fact: The seller of the three-story house is a corporate entity tied to fellow singer Avril Lavigne’s current boyfriend, Phillip Sarofim, heir to a billion-dollar-plus Texas energy fortune.)

Lambert’s new home is in a prime location, and sits behind double driveway gates on more than a quarter acre of land. The entrance opens onto a cozy entrance gallery that gives way to a sprawling, L-shaped shared living space which includes a living room, dining room, and kitchen space sliced down the middle. It includes an open-tread floating staircase and a climate-controlled wine and booze display cabinet that boasts three sides of frameless floor-to-ceiling glass panels for maximum viewing. The living space also features two fireplaces and an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling glass sliders that easily part to give way to the true indoor-outdoor living experience. Elsewhere on the lower floor is a home theater featuring several cozy armchairs, as well as a two-car garage. An en suite bedroom currently used as a home office is found elsewhere on the ground level.

The second floor features a number of en suite guest bedrooms all connected by a second floor gallery topped with an impressive skylight. The master suite, however, is definitely the most impressive. It boasts a fireplace, two walk-in closets, and a spa-style bathroom with a freestanding soaking tub and an oversize steam shower with two exterior walls made entirely of floor-to-ceiling frosted glass. The master bedroom itself features an entire two half-walls made up of sliding glass doors for an optimal view of downtown Los Angeles, opening out onto a wraparound balcony ideal for evening strolls. Out back, the home is perfect for entertaining, with a built-in barbecue and bar set, a fire feature that runs the length of a lounging deck, and a gorgeous infinity pool and spa.

Adam Lambert’s other Sunset Strip property was put on the market in late 2017 for $3.995 million, but has failed to attract the right buyer; the singer originally bought the property for $2.995 million back in 2014.
