Arthur Was Saved From Being Killed Off Because Harry Was Losing Too Many Father Figures

    From Redditor u/colourandcinema:

I once read in an interview with J.K. Rowling that the reason she changed her mind about killing off Mr. Weasley after the snake attack was that of all of Harry's father figures who die, it didn't seem fair to kill the one who was the least flawed.

He Treats Harry As An Adult Right From The Beginning

    From Redditor u/TheObstruction:

My favorite thing about Arthur is that he never treats Harry like a child. Molly does all the time, but that's how she is with her own kids too, it's just her personality.

But Arthur knows Harry's been through some sh*t, even before he went to Hogwarts, from living with those jack*ss relatives of his. He has to deal with not having parents, and then find out people are out to kill him. Through it all, Arthur treats him like an equal, like someone who can think for himself. He gives advice, but is never annoying or talks down to him.

No one else will tell him about the Siruis Black stuff except Arthur, who's like "This dude is dangerous af, and he's coming after you. Just stay at the school where it's safe and please don't do the crazy thing you do where you try to find him and confront him. Seriously, this dude wants to kill you, so avoid situations where he might be able to." He's not evasive or downplaying anything, he gives Harry the truth as far as he knows it.

He Instilled The Idea That There Are More Ways Than Money To Be Rich

    From Redditor u/Nutr0nn:

It used to bother me that the Weasleys are poor because they are good wizards and could have money if they really worked on making it. But then I realized they are poor because they are more focused on being happy and loving each other then working their lives away.

Arthur Stays In His Position At The Ministry Rather Than Moving Up Because He's Enthusiastic For The Work

    From Redditor u/IanRCarter:

In Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire, you notice how popular he is at the ministry. Borrows cars to get to King's Cross (admittedly that's partly because the ministry thinks Sirius is after Harry). Has a contact in the floo office to connect the Dursley fireplace to the network so they can fetch Harry. Literally every ministry employee at the World Cup seems to be on friendly terms with him. He has a quiet word with Basel to get them a portkey away from the campsite. Arthur is the first person Amos thinks of to help get Mad Eye away from being charged by the improper use of magic office.

Molly says a couple of times that fudge looked down on Arthur and that he's not stuck in his job because he doesn't have ambition. In other words, fudge doesn't deem that job important so it's low paid but Arthur is so enthusiastic about the role that he's willing to put up with low pay to do it. There's more to life than having ambition for high ranking office and lots of money, which Percy never understood.

Some Families Consider Arthur And His Family Blood Traitors

    From a former Redditor:

I think they also get looked down upon for being "blood traitors." Families who have a pureblood superiority complex (e.g. the Malfoy family) are disgusted by the Weasleys for having Pureblood status, yet socializing with and supporting Halfbloods and Muggle-borns. I think because of this hatred for the Weasleys, some people would do anything they could to make them feel "less than," so their lack of wealth was just another thing to bully them about.

He Passed Down His Body Type To Bill, Percy, And Ron

    From Redditor u/ykickamoocow111:

How it is not well known that Charlie, Fred and George have their mother's body shape which is shorter and stockier while Bill, Percy and Ron all have their fathers body type which is taller and thinner than the Prewett body type (Molly's).
